Overseas challenges
It’s incredible where you could end up just to raise money for Leukaemia CARE! For instance you could find yourself on any of the 6 continents worldwide setting yourself a life-changing challenge. For those who aren’t quite so hard core you could still surprise yourself and make friends on a Community Challenge - and some treks have even been designed for long weekends or a family.

If you’ve been on the tour operator websites already then you may have come across these terms and not known what they meant. Read up on the following 4 terms and the world’s your oyster!
Fundraiser
You pay a registration fee and commit to raise an agreed sum –this is usually called sponsorship. It means your commitment is larger but can be raised through sponsorship over time in the run up to the holiday.
Self funder
You usually pay the same registration fee but pay the full tour cost and agree to raise as much as you can for charity. Your financial commitment may be smaller however it tends to be in a larger chunk.
Open events
Open Challenges are fundraising events which allow you to raise funds for ANY charity giving your greater choice.
Closed events
Closed or bespoke Challenges are fundraising events which are charity-specific i.e. one charity recruits a group of supporters to take part in the challenge of a lifetime.
